VACANT RENTAL INSPECTION GUIDELINES

Vacant property inspection guidelines have been introduced for anyone wishing to view a property with our office. We understand that people need to find a new home & we are happy to assist in this process.

We inform that we are limiting ‘in person’ inspections due to the COVID-19 virus. Our inspection process is strictly as follows:

  1. Majority of our properties now have the opportunity for you to view online as a video tour, helping you to obtain a closer/better look at the property. All vacant properties have these videos available and we are working towards obtaining videos of the properties that are currently tenanted.
  2. You MUST confirm that you have viewed the property tour online (or photographs of tenanted properties whilst videos are being organised) to ensure the home is going to be suitable for your needs before proceeding further.
  3. We are only showing properties ‘in person’ to interested parties, who are likely to apply or who have already applied. We are happy to receive and commence processing applications prior to you viewing the inside of the home. Please locate the property tour before you book.
  4. After the online tour, you can accept the property as is. Please submit an Online Tenancy Application this can be obtained by selecting the following link https://www.ipswich.realway.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/application.pdf
  5. If you wish to view the property ‘in person’ we can arrange this. We also ask that you do conduct a drive by of the property prior to viewing the home to confirm that the location and position is suitable. For all viewings please email rentals3@realwayipswich.com.au
  6. If you have any possible questions regarding the property, please ask upfront to avoid an unnecessary viewing, should the property not be suitable based on the answers to your questions.

Important Information regarding in person inspections:

  • Conditions will apply regarding wellness of attendees. If you are not well, show ANY signs of symptoms such as a cough, fever or flu-like symptoms, we will reserve the right to refuse access.
  • YOU MUST disclose if you have traveled overseas in the last 14 days or have been in close contact with someone who has, unfortunately access will be refused, but this reduces the potential risk of spreading the virus. This is as per the government guidelines and fines of $20,000 exist for anyone not adhering to these conditions.
  • We ask that you bring with you hygiene products including sanitiser, face mask, gloves & tissues. These are recommended for the protection of all of us. Supplies are limited and we cannot provide masks. We do however have sanitiser. We kindly ask that you do adhere to these requests. And don’t be offended if access is declined due to non compliance.
  • In the event multiple parties wish to view at the same time, you could be asked to wait your turn, as we are practicing ‘social distancing’, to protect all attendees. It will be limited to 2-3 persons entering at once. And we will therefore be monitoring & staggering the traffic flowing through the property at any one given time.
  • We ask that you do not touch anything inside the home. If you wish to open cupboards please ask for assistance or use a glove.
  • If a property is still occupied, the rules may be tightened, if the said occupant is in ‘self isolation’. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. It is out of our control.

We look forward to helping prospective tenants find a new home soon and trust that you understand the processes we need to take to ensure maximum safety for all involved. We thank you for your cooperation during this time.
