Education

Ipswich offers all the modern facilities and attractions of a progressive city. Attractions include the Ipswich Art Gallery, the Workshops Rail Museum, steam trains, more than 500 parks, wineries, cafes, restaurants, cinemas and shopping centres. If getting a birds eye view of the Ipswich region is something you fancy you can take a hot air balloon ride or a helicopter tour.

Ipswich is an exciting place to live, work, invest and visit. Education plays an important role in the local economy with two universities and a wide choice of private and state government schools.

THE UNIVERSITY OF QUEENSLAND

The former UQ Ipswich Campus transferred to the University of Southern Queensland in January 2015. It is now the USQ Ipswich Campus.

The University of Queensland continues to teach at the USQ Ipswich Campus to assist its students who were enrolled to complete their studies at the Campus.

This includes students in Nursing and Midwifery, Paramedic Science, Bachelor of Health Science and Medicine. These students will study at the Ipswich Campus in 2015. Students in the Paramedic Science and Nursing and Midwifery programs will also study at the Ipswich Campus in 2016.

The UQ staff base is located in Building T. UQ students are able to access all facilities on the Campus in the same way as USQ students enrolled at Ipswich are able to do so.

UQ Health Care (now Ipswich-Bremer Medical Centre) continues to operate at the Campus and is located in Building F and the UQ Nutrition and Dietetics Clinic is operating in Building H.

For enquiries about UQ activities at the USQ Ipswich Campus, and facilities and services available to UQ students and staff, please contact the Office of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Professor Alan Rix at:
